Policies of Comox Valley Kayaks

Please read our policies carefully. We want you to know what to expect.

General Payment and Cancellation Policy

Long term Rentals

To rent a kayak/canoe/sup a liability waiver must be read and signed. Safety is our top priority, so we provide a safety talk before sending you out on the water. Also, attending demonstration of safety features (how the pump works, putting PFD on etc.) is mandatory.

Long term rental Cancellations Policy:
A $50 Deposit is required to confirm your booking. Deposits are non-refundable.  
     - Cancellations made more than 72 hours before start of rental will be given a credit towards future rentals.  
     - Cancellations made within 72 hours of the rental will not be redeemed.

Tours

  1. Full payment is required to reserve your tour. We are eager to start planning your adventure!

  2. Full refund is available up to 72 hours before the start of your tour. Ship happens! It’s okay. We’ll hope to see you another time.

  3. If you have Covid 19 symptoms within 72 hours of your tour please contact us as soon as possible for a refund and sympathetic cooing.

  4. In the event that we are unable to conduct your tour due to a BC Government imposed non-essential travel advisory we will refund your trip in full. What can you do? Well, you can go kayaking! Just not here. We hope you kayak here soon, though!

  5. Comox Valley Kayaks and Canoes reserves the right to cancel tours and rentals due to inclement weather, foreseeable hazards and events beyond our control. We will provide as much notice as possible, alternative dates and times or a full refund. We’re trained for safety which sometimes means making mature decisions we wish we didn’t have to. On the bright side, it means we will all live to paddle another day!

Lessons

  1. Full payment is required upon registration. 

  2. Payment is non refundable, however it is transferable to other scheduled lessons or transferable to other friends or family.  Any changes must be made at least 24hrs prior to the scheduled time of the lesson and made via email to lessonstours@comoxvalleykayaks.com

  3. Payment will not be redeemed if participants fail to attend with no advanced notice.

  4. If you have Covid 19 symptoms within 72 hours of your lesson please contact us as soon as possible to reschedule.

  5. Comox Valley Kayaks and Canoes reserves the right to cancel lessons due to inclement weather, foreseeable hazards and events beyond our control. Purchase Deposit

To reserve a boat on order, we ask for $200 deposit. This deposit is non-refundable, however it is transferable towards another boat or any products and services in our shop.

Refund and Return Policy

Refunds and Returns

Due to the increasing cost of Credit Card charges to the retailer our refund policy encourages refunds for store credit.   Restocking fee is charged on refunds applied to credit/debit cards and after 2 weeks from date of purchase, an on-site supervisor will assist with refunds.

 

Customer Options: 

  1. Refund to store credit at any time after purchase, no restocking fee will be applied and full refund will be offered, only on unused product with packaging intact 

  2. Refund to credit/debit cards.  Restocking fee of 10% of subtotal is charged after 2 weeks of purchase date, only on unused product with packaging intact

  3. Clearance items are final sale

  4. On Sale items returned for in store credit ONLY

  5. Used items will be considered for return at a 25% restocking fee
