CVK  KAYAK TOURS

Estuary Kayak Tour $139 (3 hours)

Want to try paddling in our safest and most accessible location? This is the perfect tour for you! Experience the elegance of the kayak afloat, the interplay between rudder and paddle stroke, negotiating the rhythms of the ocean and the river current from the floating cockpit. Take time to enjoy the wildlife as there is much to see in the shallows with often wonderful moments of action above the waves as well! Estuary tours tend to have a relaxed pace and typically offer a gently immersive natural experience. This is the perfect tour for families and for anyone who is starting their paddling journey. Please email  lessonstours@comoxvalleykayaks.com for more information or to book with Comox Valley Kayaks on a day that fits your schedule.

Ghost Ships Kayak Tour - $149 (3.5 hours)

Paddling to the Ghost Ships of Royston gives you a unique perspective of these massive hulks resting on the ocean floor, mere ghosts of their former glory. No thanks to the wind and waves, but they are still imposing and impressive to behold. We’ll paddle as near to them as the wind effects allow us to fully appreciate the historic vessels as well as the flora and fauna that have made these wrecks their home. This tour location is in typically calm waters but still requires paddling steadily for up to 15-20 minute periods. Please email  lessonstours@comoxvalleykayaks.com for more information or to book with Comox Valley Kayaks on a day that fits your schedule.

Tree Island Kayak Tour $159 (4 hours)

Sea Lions, Oysters and Sandy Beaches, OH MY! Please join us on a tour to visit stunning Sandy Island Provincial Park. This might be the most delightful tour we offer as the vistas are incredible on a clear day - and clear days occur regularly in our summer months here! Sea lions are regular visitors to the area especially in spring and even early summer but tend to roam farther afield as Baynes Sound warms with the season. In the distance we’ll see some of the oyster farms that quietly and efficiently make this area famous, and of course there are wild fish shops near our launch site if you are inspired to taste the ocean on your plate as well as in your heart. Tree Island has sandy beaches for miles and even a well-maintained outhouse if necessary. We’ll plan a lunch stop so please bring a snack for yourselves or ask us about providing one for you! (No alcohol.) Consider planning to use double kayaks as this widens the safety window in case we have more wind than anticipated. If a weather based cancellation is necessary we will look at paddling closer to Courtenay. Please email lessonstours@comoxvalleykayaks.com for more information or to book with Comox Valley Kayaks on a day that fits your schedule.

Chrome Island Kayak Adventure $199 (4 hour)

Hello Adventure Seekers!! Chrome Island is a tremendously beautiful marine outpost with much history. We often see deer stepping on the beach and through the forest on Denman Island as we paddle down to toward our stopping spot at Boyle Point Provincial Park. Please bring a lunch and boat snacks for yourself or ask us to bring one for you! This tour is more rugged and exposed than any other of our tours. Participants should be agile enough to walk on rocky beaches as our lunch spot landing availability changes with the tidal water level. We recommend that you are strong enough to paddle for 30-40 minutes at a varying pace as we will cross to Denman in one go. It’s beautiful to shift the gaze southward to take in views of Lasqueti and further down the Strait of Georgia, however this fetch of water can build into a serious southeasterly. Consider planning to use double kayaks as this widens the safety window in the case that we have more wind than anticipated. If a weather based cancellation is necessary, we’ll look at a Tree Island Tour before other options. Please email lessonstours@comoxvalleykayaks.com for more information or to book with Comox Valley Kayaks on a day that fits your schedule.
