Free parking is available in the lot between CVK and the marina. If that's full there is street parking on 20th and nearby side streets.
Where Can I launch?
We are located in Courtenay, just behind Cliffe Ave.
We have a boat launch right outside the shop, just past the parking lot! We will help you carry your boat to the launch whether it's a rental or a lesson or tour.

What Do I Need to Go Paddling?
Please Bring :
-
Water shoes! Or shoes that can get soaked. Kayaking is definitely a wet-foot sport. We will help you get in and out of the kayaks. Flip flops aren’t good for kayaking or walking on shore. Old runners or strapped sandals are great. I generally don’t recommend crocs because they are slippery.
-
Hat, sunglasses, sun protection layers and sunscreen.
-
Drinking water and boat snacks!
-
Clothing: One layer warmer than you would need on land is often what is needed in a kayak. A rain jacket is a perfect addition. Quick-dry clothing, or clothing made of wool or polyester is far preferable to cotton. Sometimes paddlers like to bring gloves to protect from friction or sun but most don’t for 3-4 hour lessons/tours. Anticipate that your clothing could become splashed and damp as a natural part of kayaking.
-
Spare dry clothes to keep in your vehicle.

We supply all required Transport Canada safety gear (PFD, pump, rope, paddle, whistle).
Please rinse saltwater from your belongings as any salt left unrinsed can impact the future utility of your possessions.
