Unexpected Overnight
Survival Session

Wind can change quickly on the water. Sometimes the safest decision is to land on shore and wait for conditions to improve. This hands-on workshop teaches practical survival skills for paddlers who may need to spend an unexpected night on a beach or small island.

You’ll learn how to use what you carry and what you should carry for a day trip just in case of an emergency overnight.

Using simple items such as garbage bags, a lighter or ferro rod, and basic camping gear you’ll learn how to stay warm, build a quick shelter, start a fire in coastal conditions, and signal for help if needed.

This course focuses on realistic paddling scenarios and simple techniques that work on the coast. It’s designed to build confidence, problem-solving skills, and the ability to stay safe and comfortable if a trip doesn’t go as planned.
